STRENGTH WITHIN

COVID and our resilience

It would be an understatement to say that 2020 was a year like no other. Yet, despite the many challenges we faced as a business, it highlighted one thing - the Moore Network is resilient.

We adapted to a “new normal”, found new pathways for advancement and demonstrated that together we can thrive.

Here’s what we did:

We came together as a global family

As we all transitioned to a virtual work environment, we worked hard to make it easy. Along with providing new remote working tools, including free Zoom licenses for members, and developing COVID and business continuity guidance, we stayed focused on our people and what they needed to succeed.

This included new online Quality and Technical Training resources and Leadership and Professional Skills courses.

And, as Moore Global is a community that cares, our members also came together to share their knowledge and best practice, bringing a collaborative element to our professional development and firm support.

We supported our members

We also wanted to ensure that all our firms were set up for success. So, in 2020, we launched our new Practice Support Portal.

This Portal is designed to assist small and medium-sized practices boost efficiency and effectiveness. It brings together a wide variety of videos, templates, guidance and other downloadable tools to help members reshape their businesses and position themselves for growth.

Beyond these resources, the Portal also provides a global support network of like-minded professionals who are willing to share their experiences and help tackle the challenges ahead. With advice ranging from day-to-day items, such as benchmarking performance and restructuring a practice, to long-term strategic goals.

“Moore Ambition is about building a really strong professional leadership community from which may emerge future firm leaders, or global specialists.”
Anton Colella

We stayed ambitious

Moore Ambition is at the heart of our goal to be the world’s most respected professional services network, helping our community of young leaders grow professionally and expand their network.

This leadership development programme launched in February 2020 with around 200 managers and colleagues from 54 countries. Since that time, we’ve continued to build on our success and we now have over 800 participants worldwide.

Supported by our Moore Global Chairman Andy Armanino and Moore Global CEO Anton Colella, Moore Ambition explores a wide range of leadership and personal growth topics to both inspire and prepare our young leaders.

We decided to make a difference

In addition to providing this next generation of leaders with professional development support, Moore Ambition is often where change begins. We are entrusting and empowering our young leaders to lead the way.

Last year, Kate Hill, a Moore Ambition participant and manager at Moore Insight, proposed a social responsibility initiative that would encourage Moore to take a more active role in the communities where we live and work. This idea became Moore Social Ambition.

“We’re looking to drive social, economic, environmental change and answer the question of what is Moore Global’s impact and what do we leave behind?”

We successfully made the move to virtual

As a vibrant global community, we know our members thrive through personal engagement. But in 2020 when in-person events were not possible, we needed to find a way to bring the Moore experience to members, wherever they may be. And we did this by going virtual.

In this new format, we incorporated a “cameras on” mindset, encouraged interaction while continuing to deliver the same quality insights. This approach proved successful. We managed to reach more members that we ever have before.

We shared our thoughts with the world

We know that to earn respect we need to add value for our members and their clients. One of the best ways to do this is to share our knowledge and expertise.

In 2020, we met this need by launching Moore Intelligence, “the new voice in global business.”

With experts in more than 113 countries, Moore Intelligence delivers unique insights and analyses from around the globe. And with articles addressing such big picture topics as the digital revolution in corporate finance and “the Big Pivot” in manufacturing and distribution, top Moore leaders are shining a light on important issues with unparalleled know-how.

Moore Intelligence also supports those activities of those 600+ active participants in our global and regional collaboration groups.

We kept our promise to help communities thrive

In challenging times, that’s when kindness means the most. And in 2020, we really put our Moore Heart into supporting our local communities.

Moore Heart gives our members the chance to make a global impact while supporting their local community. We have uncovered and championed the many acts of kindness and good deeds performed by firms and staff across our global community.
